Your band’s “ops” are everywhere

  • Tours live in random spreadsheets, group chats, and email threads.
  • Gigs are scattered across Facebook events, ticketing platforms, and note apps.
  • Your website is mostly a static flyer, not the source of truth for your band.
  • Every new tool is another SaaS account where your data goes to die.

Indie Backline exists so your band can run everything from a place you control: your own WordPress site.

A full “backline” of tools for indie bands

Indie Backline is a local‑first, self‑hosted ecosystem of WordPress plugins for bands, venues, and promoters. Instead of juggling separate SaaS platforms, you build your own stack: a band hub, tour planning, show management, venue tools, and even your own gig marketplace – all on WordPress, all open source.

Coming Soon:

  • Band Manager – keep members, roles, contacts, and assets organized in one band hub.
  • Venue Manager – manage rooms, tech specs, and availability for venues who host shows.
  • Hub & Hub Sync – connect all Indie Backline plugins so your internal planning and public website always match.
  • Gig Marketplace – power your own booking platform, where artists and venues connect directly.
  • More plugins – built around real indie workflows, not generic “creator economy” buzzwords.

These plugins are in active development. Right now, the only Indie Backline product available to install is Tour Manager.

Start today with Tour Manager

Tour Manager is the first Indie Backline plugin you can use right now. It lives inside WordPress and gives your band a clear, shared view of every tour and show – without another SaaS login.

  • Plan tours with clear lists of dates, cities, and venues in one place.
  • Keep show details (load‑in, set time, contacts, notes) out of messy group chats.
  • See your tour as a calendar so everyone knows what’s next.
  • Connect to your public site so fans always see up‑to‑date shows.
  • Stay local‑first and self‑hosted; your data stays on your server.

Where this is headed

Indie Backline is for bands and teams who think long‑term: own your site, own your data, own your tools. Here’s what we’re building next.

  • Now: Tour Manager – plan and track tours inside WordPress.
  • Next: Band Manager – a proper band CRM and asset hub.
  • After that: Hub & Hub Sync – keep tours, shows, and site content in sync automatically.
  • Later: Venue Manager & Gig Marketplace – tools for promoters and venues to connect with bands directly.

Built for the DIY music world

  • Gigging bands who tour and play shows regularly.
  • DIY managers and tour managers who want structure without corporate software.
  • Venues and promoters who prefer owning their own site over renting an audience on social platforms.

FAQ

  • “Is Indie Backline a hosted platform or something I install?”
    • Indie Backline is a set of WordPress plugins you install on your own site. You stay in control of your hosting, data, and domain.
  • “What can I use today?”
    • Right now, only Tour Manager is available. The rest of the Indie Backline suite is in active development. If you start with Tour Manager, you’ll be first in line for the new plugins.
  • “Do I need to be technical?”
    • If you can manage a basic WordPress site (or know someone who can), you can use Indie Backline. No custom code required to get started.
  • “How much does it cost?”
    • Tour Manager is free and open source. Future plugins will follow the same open source model, with optional paid add‑ons for bands and teams who want more.

Why I’m building this

I’m building Indie Backline because I’m tired of seeing bands and small venues pushed into closed platforms and disposable SaaS tools. WordPress already powers a huge chunk of the web – Indie Backline turns it into a proper operations hub for the indie music world.
